NOVA Strengthens Its Scientific Excellence with the Appointment of Dr. Francisco López Muñoz

  The NOVA Journal is proud to announce the prestigious addition of Dr. Francisco López Muñoz to its Editorial and Scientific Committees. Dr. López Muñoz, Professor of Pharmacology and Vice-Rector for Research, Science, and Doctoral Studies at Universidad Camilo José Cela, is one of the most distinguished figures in international neuroscience and psychopharmacology.

With an exceptional scientific career spanning over 798 scientific publications, 31 edited books, and 241 book chapters, Dr. López Muñoz brings world-class research credentials to NOVA. His seminal work, the three-volume History of Psychopharmacology, is a global reference in the field and has been published in both Spanish and English, underscoring his international impact.

Dr. López Muñoz’s academic prestige is reflected in his membership in more than twenty national and international academies, including Full Member of the European Royal Academy of Doctors, the European Academy of Sciences and Arts of Salzburg, Lifetime Member of the World Academy of Arts and Culture (UNESCO), and Corresponding Member of the National Academies of Medicine of Colombia, Venezuela, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic, Bolivia, and Costa Rica.

His research expertise in neurobiology of drug dependencies, neuropsychopharmacology, development of novel molecules for neurodegenerative diseases, and the history of neuroscience will significantly enhance NOVA’s scientific profile. Boasting an H-index of 47, a total impact factor exceeding 526 points, and numerous honors—including the Silver Cross of the Civil Guard and the title of Honorary Civil Guard—Dr. López Muñoz embodies excellence in biomedical research.
