NOVA strengthens its academic rigor with the appointment of Dr. Goñi, a global reference in biophysics

The NOVA Journal is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Félix María Goñi Urcelay as a new member of the Editorial and Scientific Committee. Dr. Goñi, Professor Emeritus at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), stands out internationally in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology, and has dedicated more than four decades to the study of molecular interactions in cell membranes.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Goñi has published over 265 scientific articles and authored six renowned books in his specialty. He has supervised more than 27 doctoral theses and has been an invited speaker at universities and international conferences worldwide. His scientific leadership has been fundamental to the development of the Biofisika Institute (CSIC-UPV/EHU) and to the training of new researchers. His outstanding achievements include the Euskadi Research Award, the Avanti-EBSA Lipid Award, and the distinction of Doctor honoris causa from the University of Bordeaux, among other accolades. He is also the founder of the Biofísica Bizkaia Foundation and holds honorary positions in several prestigious scientific societies.

With Dr. Goñi’s presence on the NOVA Editorial and Scientific Committee, the journal strengthens its commitment to excellence, innovation, and academic rigor, boosting its international scope and impact within the global scientific community.
